We're Family Owned

We’re family-owned, passionate about fresh, healthy foods, and a northern California local. We have worked for over 35 years with a large number of local growers from nearby farming communities such as Salinas, Morgan Hill, Hollister, Watsonville, and Placerville. We trust them to farm their land with the utmost integrity and many use age-old methods to keep crops safe from pests and disease. With them, we aim to source the very best the earth has to offer.

Paul Sigona

Partner and Owner

Paul is a partner and owner of Sigona’s Office Deliveries. He is responsible for employees at the company as well as safety and cleanliness. He spends a lot of his time thinking about how to grow the company and keep it sustainable.

Being responsible for the employees he also likes to help them grow right along with the company. As Paul puts it, “It is fun watching our team enjoy the rewards of their contribution to the company.”

Paul passionately seeks out ways to give customers the best possible product along with the best customer service. He really appreciates knowing that the great majority of our customers truly enjoy the product and service they receive.

On his quest for the best produce around Paul enjoys walking in different fruit orchards with the farmer and having them talk about their product and what they do to make it one of the best of its kind on the market.

For relaxation Paul enjoys a good barbecue with family and being in the outdoors doing things like hiking, fishing, and bird hunting. He also enjoys a good game of Texas Hold’em.

Paul’s favorite fruits are those available in the summer: white nectarines, Bing cherries, and Kent mangoes.

Jimmy Sigona

Director

Jimmy grew up in the family business, living and breathing Sigona’s Farmers Market since he was about 6 years old. Over the years you may have seen him as a Sigona's courtesy clerk, cashier, cheese shop leader, or browsing the great products right next to you, chatting about anything interesting.

Now, Jimmy dedicates nearly all his time and energy to Sigona’s Office Deliveries. It’s a great way to bring fresh produce to the workplace to connect the real gems of Bay Area businesses, the employees that work so hard to give us our bustling economy here, with local family farms.

Jimmy loves all things science and business related. He feels one of the best things about life is the opportunity to learn and discover new ideas. Jimmy loves meeting new people and gaining different perspectives by talking with people in the amazingly diverse Bay Area. He also has a passion for traveling many times to visit a new place around the world each year with his lovely wife.

Jimmy holds a BS in Business with a concentration in MIS and was awarded the Academic Excellence award from San Jose State University.

Liliana Solorio

HR Generalist & Payroll Manager

Liliana has been a part of the Sigona’s family since 2007. It was in 2008 that she and Jimmy Sigona started what is now Sigona’s Office Deliveries. She recently took over her new position in HR and Payroll, so she is discovering the regular tasks and duties.

She is very involved in the development of employees at the company. She loves to multitask, stay active, and give life to new projects.

How long have you been with Sigona’s and what did you do previously? 

I have been with Sigona’s 16 years, previously I was working for an Immigration Law Firm as an Accounting Specialist.

What do you love about working here?

I learned a lot about produce in general, and learned to cook with different ingredients. I love the family-style workplace and the unconventional challenges we have to solve working with perishable items.  

What might we find you doing outside of work?

I enjoy binge watching shows, going on walks near the woods or ocean, and attending outdoor concerts. I also teach computer classes to Spanish-speaking adults.

Ron Blankers

Operations Manager

Ron manages the operations side of the business. A typical day includes reviewing current production needs and making necessary adjustments. He also monitors and implements our Food Safety Program which includes general facility management.

As a produce company, it is imperative that we supply the freshest product available that requires a high level of flexibility to quickly respond to our customer’s needs, which frequently results in changing schedules and work focus.

How long have you been with Sigona’s and what did you do previously? 

I have been here a little over 7 years.  I have worked in the food industry for more than 48 years. The first approximately 26 years were spent managing or directing Quality/Food Safety departments. I then transitioned to more Production/Operations related responsibilities.  Types of food processing I am familiar with include: bottling, confection/chocolate, cookies & pastry, bakery/bread, meat, and now produce.  

What do you love about working here?

I have had the opportunity to work for both large corporations as well as small family businesses.  What I like about Sigona’s is the cohesiveness of the management team. I feel it allows for personal development and the ability to get involved in other aspects of the business to better understand how everything is interrelated with the opportunity to create significant change. I have talented managers and supervisors working with me, which makes my job enjoyable. 

What might we find you doing outside of work?

You will typically find me working in the yard, hiking to enjoy nature, doing zoom calls with the grandkids, and sometimes going to the gym.

Luis Peugnet

Logistics Fleet & Warehouse Manager

Luis is in charge of our fleet, drivers and operational aspects of deliveries.

A typical day for me consists of supporting drivers to make sure they have their orders prepared, organized, and accurate before dispatching, as well as remote support once they’re on the road delivering our healthy snacks! Logistics operations can have me strategizing for the following week at one moment, to hands-on out on the field the next. It’s great to see our customers firsthand as they’re eager to enjoy healthy snacking.

How long have you been with Sigona’s and what did you do previously? 

I started at Sigona's in January 2019. Before this, I worked at a company that delivers lunches to schools. I've been in the logistics industry for over 10 years. 

What do you love about working here?

The best thing about working at Sigona's is the people. It's a small family business and you really feel part of the family here.

What might we find you doing outside of work?

Outside of work, I spend a lot of time with my kids' activities - they keep me busy! Swimming, soccer, gymnastic, softball, theater. I'm a big sports person so I love watching sports, beer in hand.

Bonnie Stangl

Sales & Marketing Manager

Bonnie's main goals are to define our brand and come up with creative ways to share the Sigona's story, mission, and value with future and current customers.

On any given day, she could be strategizing ways to reach our audiences, developing marketing materials and packaging assets, planning our presence at events, helping to launch new products, or optimizing our online presence. 

How long have you been with Sigona’s and what did you do previously? 

I started working here in April 2018 and have loved every minute of it! Previously I led marketing at tech companies, so it's an exciting challenge to work in a new industry where I can utilize my passion for food!

What do you love about working here?

We have a special group of people here. I feel lucky to work at a place where I both enjoy the people I work with as well as the work I do. I also love our mission to make fresh fruit and snacks as convenient and craveable as possible for workplaces in our local area. 

What might we find you doing outside of work?

I like movies, books, exploring the outdoors, baking, fitness, and the occasional karaoke or trivia night.

Jenna Joseph

Marketing Specialist

Jenna manages our content and online brand presence, runs email campaigns, and coordinates events. She is bringing her creativity to the Sigona's and Fruit For Thought brands!

How long have you been with Sigona’s and what did you do previously? 

I just started in May, so I am a fresh new member of the Sigona's team! My background is in Communications and Marketing, with my most recent job doing Digital Marketing at the San Jose Earthquakes. 

What do you love about working here?

I have always been a huge fruit-lover, so being here brings my job together with the perks of food sampling and tasty snacks. I also enjoy the environment and how I felt so welcomed from day one. 

What might we find you doing outside of work?

If I'm not at work, I'm probably out of the country. Traveling is my biggest hobby, so I try to do it as much as I can. More local things include dogsitting, watching sports, and spending time with my family.

Rachelle Gutierrez

Food Safety Manager

Rachelle is in charge of making sure our products and facility follow all Food Safety rules and regulations.

A typical day includes trainings, audits, swabbing, testing chemicals, and documenting findings. These tasks are done daily to ensure Sigona's is at the highest level of safety.

How long have you been with Sigona’s and what did you do previously? 

I have been with Sigona's for just over one month. Previously, I have been Food Safety-ing for many years for different industries - SaaS, hotels, restaurants, hospitals, coffee shops, and cloud kitchens. 

What do you love about working here?

Fruits. Fellowship. Fiesta Fridays!

What might we find you doing outside of work?

Hiking - beach side or premium outlets!

Steve Cook

Inventory & Purchasing Manager

Steve manages the purchasing and inventory of our products. He works with wholesalers to make sure we get the best quality produce for our customers.

How long have you been with Sigona’s and what did you do previously? 

I've been at Sigona's for 18 months. My background includes different companies in the same purchasing/capacity.

What do you love about working here?

I really enjoy getting to learn about and try so many different fruit varieties. I never realized how many there were, and they do all have distinct flavor profiles. 

What might we find you doing outside of work?

I'm an avid Bay Area sports fan, so you can usually find me out with my family or catching a game.

Maribel Mendoza

Office Supervisor

Maribel oversees Accounts Receivable. She makes sure that our customers are current with payments, approves the invoices for dried fruit orders, and sends daily invoices to our customers.

How long have you been with Sigona’s and what did you do previously?

I have been here for over 10 years, I recently moved from my role as Traceability Specialist to Office Supervisor.

What do you love about working here?

I like to work here because I can learn from different areas.

What might we find you doing outside of work?

I like to spend time with my family doing outdoor activities.

Karla Mendez

Customer Service Specialist

Karla spends most of her day interacting with our customers. She is in charge of entering customer orders, receiving customer phone calls and emails, and submitting any changes customers may want.

How long have you been with Sigona’s and what did you do previously? 

I have been working for Sigona's 4 years and I was a stay-at-home mom before I started working here.

What do you love about working here?

I love my coworkers and love helping customers.

What might we find you doing outside of work?

I am a busy mom of 4 , therefore I spend my free time with my kids.

Timmy Duong

Account Manager

Timmy is an Account Manager and his job is to keep our customers happy! He's responsible for retaining our customers and finding new customers that could benefit from healthier snacking.

Many of our customers are looking to us for produce expertise and help guide them in picking the right product for their employees.  Part of my job is to cross-collaborate with different departments to make it happen for our customer, from sales order to final delivery. Although my job has lots of functions, my favorite is testing the product! 
How long have you been with Sigona’s and what did you do previously? 
I recently joined Sigona's as of June and love it so far! I was previously at a supply chain software company helping my clients strategize their supply chain end-to-end. My entire career experience has been geared toward helping my clients solve their business needs in the most efficient yet cost effective way. I am customer obsessed no matter what industry I'm in. 
What do you love about working here? 
What's not to love? Fresh, delicious fruit. Family oriented values. Amazing team and atmosphere. I'm looking forward to learning the ins and outs of our operations and products and getting to know everyone on a deeper level. 
What might we find you doing outside of work?
You'll find me at the trails with my 2 dogs getting our steps in. We love to find new and beautiful hiking trails to tackle and take in the fresh air. I'm also a passionate home cook that loves to try new recipes from all parts of the world. I like refining my cooking technique and challenging my palate to different flavors.
